Panic Disorder And Agoraphobia

Your standing in line at grocery counter and there are two people in front of you. The one who is paying is an elderly woman who is writing a check very slowly and then two more people get in line behind you. You’re standing in between the magazine stands and the cashier counter. Your heart starts pounding and you begin to sweat, you feel a little dizzy and like everyone are watching you. These can be the onset effects of a panic attack and agoraphobia.

Agoraphobia is like a panic attack except that agoraphobics are afraid of being stuck in a small or larger public or non public place. A panic attack can happen virtually anywhere at anytime for any reason.

Panic attacks, agoraphobia, and anxiety all have similar effects but all have different onsets. Each individual might have fifty different things that can send them into a panic attack or an agoraphobic attack. And what is scary about this fact is that panic disorders and others like them are the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders in the world. For whatever the reason women more the men seem to be affected by these disorders. Not only are women more prone to having these disorders but their side effects tend to worse then that of a man.

If you suffer from a disorder like agoraphobia then you know that the medications only provide temporary relief and don’t treat the source of the problem, they only cover it up. There are several other methods of trying to decrease the amount of attacks and the severity in them. One thing that the new age metaphysic culture is saying to do is yoga and other healthy body conscious exercises.

Doctors and Holistic doctors alike say to do is exercise and keep active, burning excess energy helps relieve the disorder some. Also they say to change your diet and be body cognizant. Where they disagree is with what they prescribe as a medication. Holistic doctors prescribe herbal teas and various other herb remedies to help soothe you. A typical doctor would prescribe a Xanax or similar drug that can cause some rigorous symptoms. Another way that you can treat your agoraphobia and panic attacks alike is by trying out a new therapy called hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy can be a successful and rewarding cure to your disorder. There are many people who have tired hypnotherapy and now swear on the bible that it was a miracle and cured them completely.

All in all agoraphobia and panic attacks can alter your reality and bring you far from the normal way of living. They can make you feel like you’re dieing or filled with a shivering terror. You shouldn’t have to live like this and that is why they keep searching for an answer even though hypno-therapists believe they have found it.  The only way that you can rid yourself of these disorders is by attempting everything until you succeed. And remember you’re not alone and there are support groups for those of you who feel they need it.
