    Debilitating Panic and Anxiety Attacks

Panic and anxiety attacks can be ordinary and normal for some, however for others; the attacks are not very ordinary. There are times when there is a sudden feeling of hopelessness, of a fear that is so tangible that it is hard to breathe, it is hard to swallow, the heart pumps like it is in the throat, the feeling of nausea so extreme that it is hard to think, or to feel anything other than fear itself.

One of the worst ever experiences is to have a panic and anxiety attack, especially if it is over nothing at all. Supposedly there are triggers or stressors that will make this feeling of doom descend so fast that it is like getting sucked into a void of despair unlike anything that has ever been felt before. What these triggers are should be recognized if only to prepare oneself for an attack, if not control or prevent it from happening.

The best way to figure out the problem is to talk to a qualified psychotherapist, at least that is the advice commonly found in books and self help sites on the web. There are a lot out there which can coach a panic and anxiety sufferer, however, do they really help? Incredibly, they do work. The talking is the key word here. Being able to talk about one’s fears is the only way to figure out what is causing these attacks. How to eliminate the attacks, however, is the more challenging part.

Psychotherapists sometimes resort to medical intervention; however, more and more people are getting uncomfortable with that idea and are going more for alternative medicine. Do they work? Again, incredibly, they do work. How, you ask. It is simply the conviction to get over the attacks and believing in that convictions which will make it work. Not the medications, not the alternative medicine, in the end it is the YOU factor which will make you succeed.

Panic and anxiety attacks can be debilitating, especially if the sufferer has no means to combat it. It can be a handicap that will make you fail in life. Believing in the sense of doom will be the downfall and the only way to combat that is to believe in the self. Sorry, but that’s the only way to go.
